During the financial difficulties we are experiencing, it is easiest to find pessimists, who see only the bad and only expect things to worsen. The hardest part is finding the optimistic, not because there is no reason for this, but because, in general, it is natural to think that, in difficult times, tomorrow will be like today, or worse. It’s the same feeling and is almost always the same people who, in times of boom and bubble, also think that tomorrow will be like today or better.
If memories are correct this is not the first time we living a crisis, it is perhaps the worst ever. The fact that history does not say that and that statistics do not say it does not matter much. It seems that many do not realize that when you hear the words ”we are experiencing the worst since …” the “from” implies that there has been time in the past when things were worse.
We forget that there are cycles when things go well and we forget that there are cycles when things go wrong. All cycles have an end and this means that things change. So, it’s normal to see and read point of views in both sides of the economic cycle. No matter what analysts say neither what they think for the future, the reality shows that tough and bright times are always surprassed …….could take some time, but one day they will be part of history.
